The title says all actually. I love my iPhone and the new one but Apple Watch makes me more and more excited everyday. Am I the only one around ?

Probably. The one thing that semi-disappoints me is that I was expecting a Fitbit on steroids, which this is. But Fitbit can be worn at night to track sleep, and this can't. Obviously the thing has to charge at some point, so tracking sleep on something that gets a day of battery life isn't going to work. But I like Fitbit tracking sleep a lot. I have found out that there are a lot of other ways to do that coming out, including a Sleep Number bed my parents are getting that does it and I just saw an ad for a crowdfunded thing called Sense that seems to do it.

I like the pulse sensor, since Fitbit definitely doesn't do that. But I think I'm going to wait for GPS on it so it could be used a little more as a standalone device.

Meanwhile, I ordered an iPhone 6 about 11 months after getting an iPhone 5s. The Touch ID-enabled payments have me all :D.

You are right actually. There are a lot of people who doesn't wear watches or any accessories while they are sleeping and maybe they thought it was the best solution to put a lot of battery consuming gadgets and let people charge with a sexy charger at night :D I also will have a new home system for tracking sleep and work with Apple Watch. ( I don't remember the name of the product :D )

Another question is that I wonder the water resistance on the :apple: Watch ? I have no idea about that. Will it shower proof or will it secure enough for me to use it while I am at summer house enjoying time on a boat and jumping into the see (nice dream eh :D )

No, I'm pretty more excited about the Watch too. I'm very hesitant on upgrading my 5S, I've been thinking about it tonight. I'd love the bigger screen, I'd use ApplePay, but I feel pretty bad about tossing a device that is still capable.

So I might just sit it out until the next refresh.

I fell the same with my 5. But if I somehow get some cash out of nowhere I would consider 6. But the majority plans for Watch.

Yeah I'm more excited about this than the phones. With the phones Apple took away easy one handed use which is a big deal for me. Good thing is the watch works with iPhone 5/5s/5c so if you have the watch you get :apple:Pay functionality even though it's not on your phone.

I don't care about iPhone 6, my 5s is doing great, I'm also not quite sure I like the bigger size.
The Apple Watch, on the other hand, makes me excited. I know I could live without it just fine, but I will get it anyway. Quite possibly I'm just brainwashed by Apple's marketing :)

It seems like Steve was absolutely right about the screen sizes of products that not be produced in bigger sizes. I am also fine with mine and the screen is still good new and enough.

Steve obviously wasn't right as evidenced by the large number of sales of phones over 4". If Apple had kept iPhone at 4" that would have been the death of the iPhone.

The folks who want a larger screen far outweigh the ones who don't.

Anyway, to answer the original question, I'm looking forward to both. The watch is an interesting idea, but I need to see what actual pricing is going to look like.

$300 trade-in value is hardly tossing it.

Too many questions about the watch to get me all that excited about it. It seems to mostly offer wrist access to your phone sprinkled in with fitness features that will get destroyed by actual fitness watches. To me, that doesn't warrant the $350 (likely much more in reality) price of entry.

The iPod, iPhone, and to a lesser extent, iPad all had very clear benefits over others in their respective markets when they were introduced. The watch doesn't. I am hoping the launch event includes a lot more than what has been introduced so far.

Ask over in the iPhone sub-forum and you'll likely get the opposite result.

I feel like it's a new avenue and most people aren't sure what to expect or how it will evolve and pan out. It could be interesting to see how it does, but as of right now, I think people are just more excited for a format, medium, and technology they're used to. In 5 years, the watch could be a game-changer but we just don't know right now.

    Super excited.

iPhone 6 (which I'm getting!) is just the same thing as years past, but on a marginally bigger screen (or gigantic-ly bigger screen in the case of the Plus). I'll enjoy it, but it won't change how I use my phone.

But the Watch is new. It's exciting. It's something to play with that I haven't played with for the last 6 years.

I'm excited to see how I make the most of it, and how app developers turn it into an exceedingly useful accessory. I'd love to see Watch compatibility with specific apps that I use like Plex (remote), StrongLifts 5x5 (timer? Rep counter?), Fitocracy, MyFitnessPal, etc.

Its customization in both hardware (size, bands, etc) and software will make it a fun addition to my lifestyle.

Wait, so here you put down "Am I the only one around here that is more excited about Apple Watch more than iPhone" and over there you put down the exact opposite?

    That'll throw the poll unnecessarily.

Why does everyone care about tracking sleep? I hate wearing a watch at night so I'll grandly cradle it. Besides, I already know I don't sleep well, what's an app going to help? Dish out some ambient for reaching certain low points?
