The Atlantic has an interesting article on the CIA contracting with Amazon Web Services. It seems the entire intelligence community, all 17 agencies, is moving to the Cloud. If the IC believes the Cloud is secure, well, it must be, correct? We know that Amazon won't hose everything. The NSA still wants to keep your telephone calls in their own data center. Still, much of the intelligence analyst's day-to-day work and their tools are cloud-bound. For $600 billion, too. I guess this isn't too surprising since Amazon is also hosting some of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory's IT infrastructure and even some of Obamacare.
