Where should I buy from??? Amazon or Apple Online Store? Amazon has the 2.4 ghz SR MBP for $2344 after rebate. I just have one question considering I have only bought my computers directly from Apple. If something happens to the computer can I still take it to an Apple Store or will there be a problem because I bought it from Amazon?

I would love to give Apple more business, but if I can save $150 then I'm going to because Apple never gives rebates on computers.

Given that it would probably take 2-3 weeks to get delivery from Apple, I'd go the Amazon route if Amazon has stock. You'll get it a lot more quickly.

Will I have a problem bringing it to a genius if I have a problem with the computer, considering its from Amazon. Also, is Amazon a certified Apple Reseller?

You can take your Apple products bought elsewhere to the Apple Store for support. You have nothing to lose by buying from Amazon, except the $150 rebate and sales tax if you choose to buy from Apple.

Has anyone here ever bought a Mac from Amazon before?? If so are they good? I mean I've only ordered movies, cd's, and games from Amazon and they have been great. Do they carry that service and fast shipping over to Computers?

I bought a MBP and a MB in the last 2 months and both came in perfect conditions and the shipping was extremely fast.

Amazon.com is great :p I am just waiting the rebate checks that are taking forever!

I bought my iMac from Amazon in January 2006 when the Intels were just released. Even without the student discount from Apple, I still saved money via sales tax, shipping (I signed up for an Amazon Prime trial - free 2 day shipping) and the rebate. However, it did take nearly 3 months for the rebate to reach me, and I had to work with Amazon customer support for quite some time because they didn't send the rebate form when they sent the computer. As long as you're diligent in making sure that the rebate is processed, you shouldn't have a problem.

I always preferred buying from somewhere like MacMall for the freebies, sometimes RAM upgrades or printers.
