But Didn't (yes, it's on Fox News!).

Not the first time this has happened either, also in Tora Bora.

Bush "truly not concerned" about bin Laden!

Hillary will have Osama dead within a year, declare victory in the WoT, use that to get the hell out of Iraq and urge vigilance in the future. We'll all be able to get back to a semblance of normalcy. Except in the airport, of course, for appearances sake.

Things were too lax in US airports prior to 9/11. If your own FAA had enforced the same security measures on US domestic flights as flights from other countries to the US it never would have happened. However, perhaps if we all went back to those EU->US security levels now things could settle down and still be safe.

Won't happen of course. There's an incentive for governments to keep us worried.

No way! She is already the darling of the defense industry. There won't be peasce or normalcy with her in office. She'll just keep on rolling with the Bush ball. He's already endorsed her as Democratic nominee, and she's already voted yes to the Lieberman/Kyl bill to give Bush power to act on Iran. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/10/17/defense-industry-embraces_n_68927.html

Well, why should she be content to finish off Bush's war when she can have one of her own?

Oh Lordy, remember how the crocodile tears streamed down the faces of indignant conservatives about how the Clenis had betrayed us all by not taking the shot at bin Laden when he supposedly had one? There was a TV "docudrama" that detailed the whole sordid story, with field agents yelling for Bill to take action and the whole nine yards. At the time we were treated to another trademarked GOP sob-fest over how awful Clinton was for being such a risk-averse *****-foot. Of course little of it was true, the movie was more "drama" than "docu". That didn't stop them of course.

I'm sure they'll all be flip-flopping now that this story is revealed.

They most likely did have the shot and most likely Clinton didnt approve it, which if he didnt, he should have.

Hillary's very shrewd. I think it'll come down to where she thinks she'll gain the most advantage.

On the one hand she could continue Bush's policies and try to hold his gains for the imperial presidency. And she'll be a lot better about inventing legitimate reasons for keeping the power than Bush.

On the other hand, if she buckles down and catches Osama and ends the war she wins points with the left for shutting it down, points with the right for "winning" and points against the Republicans for finishing the job they were unable and unwilling to do.

Of course, the Republicans will squeal like stuck pigs any time she does anything. At all.

This Col. Hunt -- the guy who says we had the opportunity to kill bin Laden and didn't do it -- is criticizing Bush and the war effort.

Obviously he's one of those phony soldiers. ;)

Well, killing, anyway. It's the numbers you kill that matters, not who they are.

That didn't actually happen. Clinton pursued and jailed those responsible for the first WTC attacks in '93, the ones he could go after. He just didn't make a big fear mongering campaign about it the way Bush has. He wanted to go after Bin Laden, the GOP called it wagging the dog. He let it go lax (obviously a mistake), and figured he'd hand everything over to his successor. Via Richard Clarke. You know, the guy Bush ignored. Again, look at the links above. We had a chance to get Bin Laden in Tora Bora after 9/11. We didn't. We had another chance here. We didn't take it. Bush won't go into Pakistan where we know he and his comrades are.

I don't know why, also don't know why this isn't a bigger story.

I'm noticing a pattern with you, that I also see in other conservatives lately. If you can't defend your guy(s), you default to attacking a hypothetical that Hillary might do. Up until recently, you were still criticizing Clinton. Don't you have a problem with how poorly we've waged this "war on terror" and that we haven't gotten Bin Laden yet? Wouldn't you criticize Clinton for doing this? I mean, you already are, and already have, but what, are you surprised we're calling Bush on his administrations inadequacies? Why aren't you.

Certainly we would criticize a Dem pulling this, especially Hillary, as we already do criticize her, and them. Why not join us in criticizing the mistakes of those you support? Or at least make an attempt to defend instead of trying to sidetrack the argument onto someone or something else that has nothing to do with anything.
