For the NFC championships, the New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts. Apparently, they played using footballs that did not meet NFL's pressure requirement. However, according to a source, officials did check the pressure of the footballs before the game. A commenter suggested that the officials may have tested the balls in an environment that was significantly warmer than the air in the football field.
