Like this doesn't happen in the "grown up" world. Probably part of the reason McCain lost, people didn't want to get hurt or become "uncool."

Of course it happens, though it doesnt really make that much of a difference. Do you honestly think Mccain lost because seven million more americans decided they wanted to be cool?

You vote in private, your gonna vote for who you want to vote for.

Very interesting indeed, and I applaud her for doing so.

If people were to take the chance of standing out and being in the minority, they'd see how much conformity sucks. Case in point: outside of Sevendust and Living Colour, name a African American metal band.

You won't find many, if at all, because the assumed norm is that if you are Black, you're only into rap/R'n'B.

I'd be really interested to see if she or someone else could do this in a rural or highly conservative area. Chicago is pretty liberal, much like most big cities/urban sprawls.

A lot of good talk can come out of this, especially on how far we believe we have come.

This is the same thing as a kid getting picked on for wearing the wrong brand of shoes.....

Kids pick on each other, its what happens. I'm not even sure why this is considered an American thing, all kids are jerks.

Very interesting study, very unique and original, I'd like to have seen the Obama supporters faces when they found out it was all a test...

Just shows the hypocritical ethics some people have these days...

Looks like standard immature juvenile behavior. This is why kids can't vote.

If electing a president were all about being cool, I'm sure someone would try to win an election just using the same strategies kids use: finger-pointing and name-calling...

    Oh wait.

At least they lost this year.

Exactly why voting is private and confidential; you can vote for who you want without any outside pressures. No excuses.

No- all it shows is how mean kids can be. You can't ascribe adult ethics to kids. Don't you think the same would happen in southern states if a kid were wearing an Obama shirt at a school with mostly McCain supporters?

Kids can be mean. Horribly nasty. That's all this proves.

And of course, it proves that at least one conservative in this forum thinks that conservatives are better than liberals.

If this "experiment" by a 14-year-old proves to anyone that Americans are intolerant, then it also proves that some Americans are gullible.

Registering is NOT the same as voting. I know some like to conflate the two, since it makes ACORN-bashing easier, but just because M. Mouse registered to vote doesn't mean anyone voted under that name...
