I love sports but I just don't get soccer. I find it to be pretty boring. I tried watching a little of the cup but just couldn't get into it.

    Oookay.

Sorry you can't get into it, but Coulter's not talking about "not getting into it". She's painting it as some kind of anti-American evil.

Which is simply ridiculous and asinine.

But you have to remember the source.

It dumbfounds me that an adult could speak that type of inanity and expect to ever, ever be taken serious ever again. Wow, wow, wow. I used to be conservative, and liked Ann Coulter. Holy Schneikies, Batman.

For the most part, I have enjoyed watching the World Cup. Even though some games have been low scoring, I have found them better than I thought they would be.

I was marveling at the stupidity of this woman, but then it turned hysterical as she slips in "light rail" into the list.

Supporting decades overdue infrastructure is moral decay in her mind…wow.

Watching England get mauled was no joy for me but overall it's been a good World Cup.

Ann Coulter lives to try and get a rise out of sane people. As for the TV "doctor", FOX should lose their broadcast licenses for putting this nut on the air. This isn't even close to the worst things h has said.

    Ever wonder why?

Oh i was suppose to respond to what the OP posted ;)

    Ok for Ann's points
    1. I agree. I see this in other sports for young players. They don't keep score so no winners or losers.
    2. I can see that
    3. I agree. a lot of 0-0 scores
    4. Not sure about this one. I've seen some injuries.
    5. Not agreeing with this one. The goalie can use his hands. You don't use your hands for the most part in Hockey. A few exceptions when it is ok to grab the puck.
    6. I don't get the references here so don't have a comment for it.
    7. That is pretty true statement.

I don't see her comments WAYYYYY off base.

It isn't the points that are wrong, it's the conclusion drawn that people see as wrong.

I was watching a World Cup game the other day and I saw one of the players sucking this thumb after the team scored!

What the heck is that all about?!?!?

Also, why is all this faking an injury even allowed? Why don't they kick these players out the game if caught?

    ----------

I don't think so, it looked like it was some type of celebration.

I'm betting you've never played soccer. I find it to be a lot like golf, lots of fun to play, boring as hail to watch. The Spanish commentators do a great job of making it exciting, but the lack of showboating detracts from its entertainment value.

I use to play in my younger days. I found it much more enjoyable than American Football (run my route, watch the QB throws the #1 WR. Rinse repeat.)

Because most of the time, the game doesn't stop for injuries, unless its major injury. A guy rolling around on the ground faking an injury means his team is at a one play disadvantage.

So you agree with her that the US's increasing interest in soccer is proof of the US's moral decay and that soccer is Anti-American?

I don't care if soccer doesn't interest you( it doesn't interest me), but to assert that it is anti-American and how it shows our moral decay is absurd.

Duh, when two teams play Soccer they both win! Neither of them suffer shame and there are never any star players in any of the games!

I wonder how she feels about Rugby which in my opinion is the best sport ever.

No problem. Never started watching it. Except for reruns showing the vampire player who likes to bite.

Anyone who says soccer is just "people running around kicking a ball" knows nothing about sports at all. Just zero. It's almost the same thing as saying (american) football is just big guys bashing into each other.
