    i think that was a good review. it pointed out positives, and negatives. one thing though, most people that are crazy about the quality won't want to compress the audio to AAC, but then again, these are people (for lack of a better term) obsessed with the quality of audio.

    Gone but not forgotten.
    Considering that it was Stereophile magazine, I thought that they would have blasted the iPod for even suggesting that music should be compressed.

    I'm glad to see their viewpoint as most everyone else seems to be okay with lossy music compression. They mentioned a lot of points about how either end of the audio tends to be flaky and even at better resolutions (320 Kbps), it's not as bad but still has telltale signs. How much does anything but classical music really push that? I don't think much.

    I wonder if we'll see a wave of audiophiles wearing iPods now? :D
