Hi, this has actually been out there for a while, but I held back from announcing here as I was waiting for Apple to finally approve version 1.0.1, which it now has.

Poke Eye is, simply, a remote control for EyeTV (Elgato's TV hardware and software). You get the list of your favourite channels (as selected in EyeTV), your recordings (+ some information) and an optimised set of basic controls. My goal with this project has been to keep things minimal and build on that, which I am doing. So, it doesn't contain everything in the universe yet, but what's there works well. It is also not my intention to become an uber universal remote, that doesn't do anything particularly well. My focus is EyeTV.

You will need to run a server component which you can get from http://www.poke-eye.com/, but there's no configuration required. The iPhone app will automatically find the server running in your WLAN and ask for the code that appears in the window of the server. Just insert that, and you're ready to go.

Poke Eye currently requires Leopard, but get in touch with me if you want to run it on Tiger (there is a way you can do that quite easily). It should run on both Intel and PowerPC Macs. It runs on the latest EyeTV software, but may also run on older (let me know).

Nice idea but the site poke-eye.com is down and appears to have been down for some time so there is no way to download the server component.

Charging £1.19 for a non-functioning app is pretty criminal..
