Is cheating acceptable if they DONT profess to be Christians ?
    Was Edwards Christian?
    How about Bill Clinton?
Do you find their actions acceptable? Or is it ok simply because they are democrats?

Their actions are not acceptable, however, Democrats also don't go around trying to shove their social agendas down people's throats. Republicans, on the other hand, built their "family values" silliness into their party platform. That's why it's extra fun calling them out on it.

It isn't right regardless of party, but one group professes that everything is centered around family values. Well, almost everything.

Meh. What's the point of having power if you can't finagle some side lovin'.

That's half the fun of being a Kennedy or Clinton.

Businesses don't care who you are getting on with after hours, just so it doesn't interfere with your duties. The same standard should apply to politicians. The problem comes when the people involved have used propriety and/or piety as a political tool. Bill was doing fine until he said that he didn't.

A more interesting question is why voters care.

"Therefore it is unnecessary for a prince to have all the good qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always to observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and to be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite."

His reputation aside, Machiavelli certainly had a keen understanding of politics.

Hey, how can you have a family without having sex? Foreplay is just a step on the road to that.

Yeah looks like her husband wasn't too happy about that display of "true family values(tm)" and they are divorcing.

I feel sorry for the child growing up in a dysfunctional home like that, that's almost as bad as growing up with two dads or moms!!1!1!11!!:D (not to mention all the possible sins that could have been taking place there, any Tornado warnings for Louisiana?)

Often, family values is just a code word for "traditional marriage" aka, being against same sex marriage. And being against marriage equality is silliness.

And yet just as often it is not.

Democrat, ok to cheat, steal, lie, traffic guns.....but not one republican, ever, should have any trouble because ALL republicans are that way.

    Got it.

So the liberal chant is "Don't set your bar very high."

Democrats/liberals or shall I say non-republicans here do have a point, don't pretend to be a family values guy & things will not be as bad when you get caught.

I don't care what he does in his personal life, if he wants to cheat on his wife, that's between him, his wife, and his mistress. But don't you dare cheat on your wife and then be against marriage equality because you're in favor of "traditional marriage" because boning your secretary behind your wife's back isn't traditional marriage.
