Guns don’t kill people, people with guns kill people. Ain’t that a fact with all these pointless murders.

    Not a mass shooting.
All 4 are still alive. One critical though.
Given the area and the ages.. I suspect gang or drug related.

Yep soon we’ll be told they are harmless, fun objects that need to be loved. Every family should own one.

... the 4 are victims of gun violence all the same.

This website only has so much room. Yes but let's all poke fun while more lives are ruined by the gun.

This is 4 people and enough to pop up on my feed over 3000 miles away.

Are guns not too readily available?

Most likely a drug deal gone bad or something similar.

... the 4 are victims of gun violence all the same.

It's also a serious issue, but where are the daily progress reports on that?

Soon guns will need guns to protect themselves from all of these humans using them for evil.

Absolutely. There will be good guns with people attached to make sure the bad guns don’t kill people

    Reported everyday here...

Start a blog if you don't think it is being reported.

It appears that 4 is accepted as “mass shooting “. A shooting of one person in London will make London news but not national. I assume it’s the same for Chicago.

However we still have very few shootings in London

Not to minimize any shooting but this one in Philadelphia sounds like "just another" and unfortunately too common incident of gang or drug-related violence...

Soon it will be winter in much of the States so the weather may tend to keep miscreants with guns holed up watching TV or whatever. Bring the season! It's supposed to be like 9º here overnight and we already have two inches of snowfall, which is sticking since it's only 16º out there at the moment. Not sure it would deter criminals but it sure kept me from being very interested in running some errands.

True to an extent. My point is it’s just too easy to have a gun in the US. It needs sorting

    Compared to most countries, sure.
They aren't exactly free though and we do have laws regulating who can have them.
Enforcement is pretty sketchy and punishment for violating those laws is weak in most cases.
Criminals have little fear of the gun laws as they know they can cop a plea deal and be back on the streets in no time.
All crimes involving the use of a gun deserve the maximum sentence under the law. No deals.
I'm pretty sure there would be a significant reduction if there was a mandatory 25 to life sentence for using a firearm in the commission of a crime. No deals, no good behavior reductions.

My point was 4 plus shot everyday in Chicago, we are at ~7/day for the month.

    Your point is dumb.

I still feel that if there were restrictions on having guns it would be easier to pick up illegals. As long as 2A is held sacrosanct you will have mass shootings

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just reduce accessibility to guns and fund better enforcement?

I'm all for punishing violent criminals and all, but I don't think lifetime room, board, and medical in confinement for a bunch of young dudes is the most economical approach.

Why draw the border around Chicago? We're at 1+ mass shooting per day in the US. Isn't that border that matters?
