I find this device so fascinating that I want to share it with you. This is a USB 2.0 dock for SATA drives. It comes with a power supply and USB cable. Your Mac or PC will recognise it as a standard external USB drive. Just pop in a drive and Bob's your uncle. Fill it with video footage or RAW pictures and put it into a safe after use. And it is only 32 Euro! Need more storage? Just buy another drive. Sorry for the rant ;)

Not quite the same thing but it is a very cool storage device. If one of your hard discs dies in there then the data that was on it can be completely restored!

Yes, I know about the Drobo. Sigh. $499 bare chassis I think. If you are heavy into video editing or professional photography this is the thing to buy. But in a completely different league, price wise.
