There's been some discussion here recently (which I can't locate now, alas), talking about/asking essentially "how black is the all-black Nike band, really?". I can offer some help for that now.
I had no intention of getting the "all black" Nike band, until I saw it up close. It reminds me of a modern interpretation of classic leather "racing" or "rallye" style watch straps (black or brown leather with patterns of holes for more airflow), and it slowly won me over.
Below, some pictures comparing the new mostly-black Nike bands and an original black band. I never seem to get exacting color rendition on the iPhone 6, but here at least one can compare against a known quantity.
The first picture is indoors, under LED light (and light coming in the windows), the second picture is outside in sunlight. Top, the original Black Sport Band, middle, the new "Anthracite/Black Nike Sport Band", bottom, the new "Black/Volt Nike Sport Band".
To me, up close, it looks black until you get it next to something that's really black. It's miles darker than, say, the Concrete band. And it looks great with the Space Gray Sport watch.
