    O...M...G...

I've never seen such lies packed into one ad in my life. That anyone would even put something like this out there shows how much further we have to go.

The article and ad are here:

You almost sound like you're surprised, there Lee, that they'd try and pull this...

It's so crazy though...they should be embarrassed. Do they even know how this comes across? It's truly sad and pathetic. I just found the audition tape too. Even more embarrassing. It's almost all the way down at the bottom of the page: http://www.americablog.com/

I'm a California software developer, and homosexuals took the last Apples & Cinnamon oatmeal and forced me to eat Maple & Brown Sugar. When will this scary badness end?

See if they'll add that to their little diatribe. I'm sure they'd love to use it.

Yeah, this POS has been making the rounds for a few days now.

A conservative friend of mine sent it out via a mass email to everyone in her address book. A good 90% of people she sent it to; however, thought it was a bunch of [expletive] if not ignoring it outright.

I must say, I'm in the "laughably bad" camp.

It's also, apparently, airing in NH and Maine as well.

How dare those gays take away my ability to discriminate!

    EDIT:

PS - Why don't I have the ability to summon dark cloudy skies and thunder and lightening? Where do I sign up? Did I miss the memo? I'm being deprived of my gay superpowers! Help!

It is ironic that these "christian" groups use selfishness to promote their cause.

And yes, watching the audition tape makes it seem even more ludicrous and unbelievable.

I think it's hilarious that they call themselves the rainbow coalition.

It doesn't even make any arguments. It actually seems almost...childish. Am I wrong about that?

    Rather ironic, no?

Of course it doesn't even make arguments...

There are no viable arguments to make.

IMO, it's just a bunch of whining and scare tactics.

ZOMG, a storm is coming!!! Teh gays!!!!! They want to take away our freedom!! Halp!!!11!11

    F**king parasites.

I am ashamed of these people.

I hope those "actors" really felt strongly about that cause, I just can't see how that would not be a career killer.

That Damon guy is a real douche.

    "You're the Rainbow Coalition?"

    "Well, we're a rainbow coalition…"

That's why, as infuriating as it is, I cannot watch something like that without my mind racing straight to the parody version. The whole thing is so over-the-top and amateurish to begin with that I automatically want to disarm it by littering YouTube with hilarious mash-ups and knock-offs.

Some see you next Tuesday from the NOM (WTF??) was on Hardball last night. So full of it. Can't find the video but she certainly didn't help her lost cause.

Well, I don't know guys. Ridiculous commercials like this were done by the anti-prop 8 people in CA. I think no matter how ridiculous gay rights organizations think it may be, they need to get on this and fight it. It has some of the same lies in those commercials (the lies about the public schools). It doesn't matter if the commercial doesn't have an argument. It just scares people, which is all they wanted.

I just don't want to see the gay rights movement get complacent with this and then be shocked if some of these states stop extending equal rights to everyone. I hope HRC or another organization can get a commercial together, because a website is a piss-poor response to this.

Same here. Not in my office though.

Laughably bad. And whiney too. Ah well, just more of those desperate "last throes"...

I couldn't agree more. Complacency is what lost us CA in the first place. Just because this ad is stupid, doesn't mean we don't fight it.

You are not. That was the most pointless ad I've ever seen. How would same sex marriage keep a Dr. from doing their job??

Ha, this reminds me of a Family Guy short from a few years back. Sure strikes fear into me

As a doctor, she knows that The Gay is highly contagious. She does not want to risk catching The Gay, but might be forced to treat patients with the disease if they are allowed to marry. Because gay people don't go to the doctor unless they are married.
