I don't even know what to say. Really? Not meant to offend anyone? Who is she kidding?

Now- smashing the sign was the wrong thing to do. But wow- it's also not a surprise that it happened.

"I love you, but you live a perverted life."

Ain't that a grand way to make friends.

It's just so frustrating. Why does this kind of hatred exist in this day and age? Why do people still hate us so much? At this point, I just don't get it anymore. It just makes no sense.

It's because the world is big and scary and filled with shades of gray.

It's so easy to just hate gay people, it's comforting if you have that type of mind. Why is the world screwed up? Because of the gays...

They are doing more to end religion than I could ever do! Secular reason and morality always prevail. We no longer blame illness on demonic possession, we are no longer the center of the universe on a 6k year old planet, slavery is no longer accepted and women can vote.

In time the churches bullying of gays will be a glossed over and lied about like all of their hateful past. This sign is exactly the kind of thing that will highlight the absurdity of religion and following the bible.. onward christian soldier!!

I guess so. Look at Michele Bachmann. It seems to be working for her.

This kind of thing won't end religion. It seems to be what keeps it going in a lot of places. Hatred and fear sells.

If the pastor had continued reading the passage, he'd have stumbled on this:

Paul spends chapter 1 talking about God's judgment but then goes on to call out judgmental hypocrisy in chapter 2.
    :p

And I don't see how anyone could consider that sign anything but offensive. "Turn or Burn"? Wow.

Lee, I love you for your perverted lifestyle, not because you're gay. :D

How is it working for her? This is the primary season where only the Republican bigots vote. That **** won't fly in a general election.

Now they get to parade around pretending to be victims because their freedom of speech was violated.

I recently had an argument about this with a stubborn person who believes they could judge me for condoning a trivial thing such as "adultery". When I showed them that passage, they told me they had the right to judge other people for "unwarranted self importance".

My argument was that unless you are directly affected, you should neither judge or meddle with other people's personal life.

Clearly whoever smashed the sign should have torched it instead. Or have I misread the message?

"turn or burn" is a terrible tag. Not even remotely biblical. Very offensive.

Still shocked at the sign. How incredibly backwards and unevolved.

"Turn or burn"?? What is this, the Inquisition?

People still believe that whole "burning in hell" baloney? Come on . . .

Some people are scared of prison and having to look over their shoulder at the big penis that looks vaguely presidential aiming right at their backside.

(edit) Some are scared of not being scared.

I started reading the thread and I was worried because there wasn't a '... South ...' comment.

I doubt many people will be offended as I understand it they consider electricity to be witchcraft and so don't have much internet access in the South. :D :p :D

Whilst I don't condone this kind of violence and hope the perpetrator is caught, I'm don't exactly feel sympathy for the Church.
