Just curious. So many issues with the x. Could be next year before preorder customers get their X.

I'm still getting the 10. I look forward to the madness that is the end of October/beginning of November. I still don't think the wait will be nearly as long as some are claiming. Like I've said before, the gold 5S, 6 Plus, Jet Black iPhone 7...all phones that had the production horror stories. And I still got them all on or around launch day. And around 2 months after the initial launch, stock was pretty much available for all of those phones

No. I will be disappointed if I can’t get one until next year, but pragmatically my 6s will be perfectly fine until then

    Why should one be?

If you change your mind, you can always walk into a store and get the 8. It's not like it's going to be "whoops, missed the preorder, can't get it anymore" -kind of situation like the X might be.

I think it depends when somebody orders the iPhone X. Even pre-ordering, depending when they do that, it could be a 6–8 weeks before they actually receive their device. Timing is of the essence.

    Lol "so many issues".

    & already a regrets thread.

Gees, let people make their choice & enjoy their new phone (which they haven't even experienced your perceived "issues" & won't for at least a month, if they even exist) fcol.

Negative Nancies on a rampage here....

Supply being low isn’t really an issue with the phone

I don't think anyone can answer this outside of Apple.

It's possible delays could persist into 2018. The 4S, which was also launched in October, was iffy on supply until February.

No point in worrying about it now though.

Wouldn't say I'm an X person, as I don't think I'm getting one but If I was then no.

The 8 looks like just my 7 for the most part, so nah

And that's a large part of what it is for me. I think the iPhone 8 is upgraded in a lot of different ways with the processor, wireless charging, portrait lighting Tru-tone, etc. But the form factor is just stagnant to me now. It's a great iPhone and the build is premium, but having something different with the new OLED display and form factor is appealing to me.

Nope, I do not regret it at all. In fact if the iPhone 8 was the only iPhone Apple was releasing this year I would've probably stayed with my trusty 7 Plus, forgoing an iPhone upgrade for the first year ever.

One thing people are seemingly forgetting about the iPhone X launch is that this time around Apple has to deal with a total of 4 configurations for the device in terms of color / storage options. As opposed to the usual iPhone launch where Apple has to produce a minimum of 12 different configurations at launch. Coupled with the launch of the iPhone 8 and the premium price for the X, this will probably make the X's availability on par with previous years. Yes, it will still be difficult to get especially if you're not pre-ording at midnight on October 27th, but it's extremely unlikely that it'll take Apple well into 2018 to fulfill all orders as some people are saying.

In any case my chosen iPhone X is already saved into my Favorites in the online store and I'll be ready on October 27th. Hopefully Apple's infrastructure will not fail us this time around (not holding my breath :p).

I pretty much view the 8/8+ as the last upgrade of outdated tech. It would be like buying last years car model, driving it off the lot and suddenly realizing you just invested in a brand new vehicle carrying at least two years’ worth of depreciation.

If you are going to buy new, buy the new one.

Reading news reports.....looks like many Apple customers view this the same.

Regret implies a decision that can't be undone. There's no long backorder for the 8/8 Plus, so if anyone waiting for the X changes their mind they can very easily get an 8, so while some people may indeed change their minds about waiting, what would they have to regret?

I think a lot of people don't trust face id and want to wait for the next generation phone to come out. I am willing to risk it though.

Personally I don't get why people describe the 8/8+ as "outdated". It has the same internals and almost all of the same capabilities and functionality of the X. People just can't seem to get over its appearance.

Why waste money on the X when the a majority can’t own it a full year. The X 2 will be out so it only has a 9 month lifespan. Bit much for 1 grand.

I love how people are just assuming this and just giving up already. It will just make it easier for everyone else to get.
