    I think it's quite likely.

    iPhone: 4GB, 8GB, 16GB
    iPhone 3G: 8GB, 16GB
    iPhone 3GS: 16GB, 32GB (later 8GB)
    iPhone 4: 16GB, 32GB (later 8GB)
    iPhone 4S: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB
    iPhone 5: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB

    It's time for a change :) .

Most likely yes, because the camera is going to be 60fps, so 16gb would be a joke, 32gb will be the new low end on the 5s, 16gb will be left to the 5c which will not have the new 60fps mode.

    So
16gb 5c (not usre they would even make a 32gb 5c, just force you to go 5s)
    32gb 5s
    64gb 5s
    128gb 5s

Maybe apple will also take this opportunity to increase the price of the hand sets!

It would be very interesting if the 5C adopted current iPhone 5 pricing and iPhone 5S started at say $100-$150 more with 32GB of storage the base model.

If they're truly retiring the iPod Classic as it has been speculated, people are going to want a new product to fill the gap.

I am of two opinions on this. First, I think the cost of the storage may have gone down enough for Apple to up the storage and not the price (or at least not that much -- if they drop 16GB from the 5S offering). With higher quality pictures and videos being able to be taken from the device, more storage space would be required.

However, they may end up keeping it at 64GB capped (at least for now) in hopes to entice people to subscribe to iTunes Match where they can have access to their entire iTunes library from their phone. That could lure the iPod classic customers to the iPhone, but not really towards the iPod Touch.

In my own personal opinion, given their history with storage on previous phones, it would make sense to bump it up eventually, but also from what I know of business (which I will admit is not very much) it may also make sense to keep storage semi-limited to encourage sales of their other services.

For instance, I have 64GB on my iPhone and thanks to iTunes Match, Podcasts, and Spotify, I hardly have made a dent in my storage. It goes without saying that I will most likely be getting the 32GB iPhone 5S when it is available.

I agree. Thought there might be a chance up to last week.
Too bad really. Probably want to push more cloud use and streaming.
Can you say, "Data Plan Upgrade?" ;)

I have 64 GB and iTunes Match. I still like to download music so it doesn't use my data plan (iTunes Match seems to use a lot of data, especially compared to Pandora). Also my downloads only acccounts for a around 5-10 GB, most of the space on my phone is for pictures. None of their cloud services helps people with a lot of pictures.

I think they're going to need to differentiate the "5S" as much as possible. Strictly going by the leaked info, this is going to be a VERY minor update (in the eyes of MOST consumers). Therefore, I really think Apple will be doing all it can to give people a reason to upgrade. NOt that it'll really matter in the end. The 5S will get released and it'll sell a ton even if it's a repackaged 5.

    I'm upgrading regardless btw.

That is true. I live between Hong Kong and London and have unlimited data plans in both countries so I don't always consider the people who don't have unlimited data either by choice or it not being offered. Constantly streaming and going over data allotments can get to be quite pricey.

As for pictures, you are right. I had initially thought about how Apple could shift pictures to iCloud (the current Photo Stream) but only expand it somehow. I don't even know where to even begin suggesting what Apple could do for that.

It seems to be this double-edged sword of sorts -- offer cloud and streaming services or offer other products and services that require more storage space, thus forcing people to upgrade in storage. I think it just might all come down to what the individual person uses their phone for as well as their individual data plans.

You mean like all the price increases previously when they increased storage capacity?

16/32 for the 5C (hitting the free and $99 on contract pricing points and $450/$550 off)

32/64/128 for the 5S (keeping the same on and off contract price points)

I think its likely, and I'm sure hoping it'll happen more because I'll be buying the 32 GB and it would save me $100 :D

I don't see it happening - it would be nice to have 32GB as low end...but it is unlikely.

I don't think there will be a 128 gb iPhone. The iPad is used more as far as media storage is concerned so it made sense to add a 128 gb version. I just don't see it happening with the iPhone.

I could be wrong though.

I hope so, 64gb hasn't been enough for me since before it was released.

The better question is, which of you would purchase the 128GB? I definitely see it happening, though. But even with heavy use of the camera, 32 or 64 should be enough.

    But more the merrier.

Again, show me a point in the last 5 years where the price of the phone has increased. It's cool, I can wait.

They don't. But another storage option equals more money for Apple. When they added 64GB, that's an extra hundred bucks.
