I have a nightstand from Ikea. It has a glass top where it’s wood then a glass top sits on top of it with about 1/8 of an inch between the glass and the top of the night stand. Wondering if there’s such thing as a super thin charge pad that would fit between the glass and the top of the night stand.

How thick is the glass?

You may be best off with either dismantling a charger or buying a Qi transmitter kit. That should fit in the gap but you’d need something to cover it too, to stop it looking like a coil of wire

Biggest problem might be getting a charging cable to it

Could be a good alternative to hacking bits out of your wooden table - out a false topper on.

Best solution is to route out the table under the glass and then use a thin cloth insert to hide the electronics. In my opinion. That being said, I’m not sure about the glass adding distance between the coils. Might not work.

It probably won't work. Most glass tops from Ikea are between 3 and 8 mm thick (that is: 1/8 inch and 1/3 inch), while the glass back of an iPhone is less than 1 mm, which is 1/25 inch. The glass table top will be way to much.

Oh bummer. Thought it’d be a lot easier than this. I guess it was a good thought but I hadn’t realized how thick the glass is ehh.

IKEA sells inductive charging inserts that fit into the cable management holes that are part of their desktops, as well as several different charging pads that look pretty good - better than many of the old-tech plastic disks that seem to be everywhere. For a bedside table, they also have lights with charging pad bases that you could use. I'm trying to figure out what I want to use myself for bedside use.
