    Hello All,

Just a post asking all my fellow UK/Ireland users,

Am i the only one that's pissed about not having barely any streaming apps for the iPad,

I mean USA have Netflix, ABC, and sall that other good stuff,

And we have Sky with Sports and News, which is like 35 pounds a month?

I know BBC will eventually come out with an iPlayer App, 4oD may also, but not soon, and LoveFIlm only have a queue manager,

And it's even worse for us Ireland users, as none of the above will be available to us due to country restriction.

We dont even get BBC iPlayer, or 4oD on the computer as it is, so we'll never get it on our iPad's.

Sorry for this long and rather boring rant, I just feel something needs to be done about the lack of iPad streaming apps for UK and Ireland, and just video on demand for Ireland in general.

Any other info, opinions and corrections are most welcome.

    Thanks,
    Caolán.

I am not too worried about the lack of streaming apps, BBC iPlayer does a ok job. Main best thing though is tvcatchup, which runes very well on a iPad, both are free, so I won't complain.

Sky is the main premium provider, their price is horrible. If I need to watch something, most are mainly US based programs, which usually are easier to watch on a torrent.

You can watch most of the 4OD programs using YouTube, they have a TV Shows section with loads of Channel 4 programs in.

You should be able to do it by going to YouTube in Safari rather than in the app I think :/

4OD on YouTube is in "protected" format so I don't expect it'd be HTML5 capable (ie if you use the beta on the Mac it wouldn't work either). That's the price you pay for not having Flash.

They might convert or provide an app someday, but given that C4 only became Mac viewable in the first place just last year I doubt it'll be soon.
