Does anyone know if Nikon is releasing any new DSLR's this year. I saw someone post as to a new D300 soon. Maybe with a new number. I am interested if Nikon has plans to up the MP's to 18 to match the new Canon and still keep it sub $1000.00. I am looking to purchase a D90 or D300 by years end......
    thanks

Well, Photokina is in September, so I'd say sometime in the fall we'll see new models.

Nikon has shown a somewhat different set of priorities from Canon. They may not be interested in releasing an 18 MP camera.

    I still love my 6.1MP D70s. ;)

Whenever I get a chance to buy a minty fresh camera it will definitely be a full frame sensor. Now I just need to be able to come up with the justification to spend the dollars on the D3x.

Mainly looking at the raw megapixels. Honestly, if I were going to spend that kind of coin on a new camera I would have to evaluate the entire line. For now it is just a dream.

I have sold some 20x30 prints taken from both the D70 and D60 so I know raw MP doesn't mean everything. I also do a lot of night shots so the systems that go over 100k ISO really interest me as well.
