I can only use 1 headphone at work, so I'd like to have both the left and right channels come out that 1 earbud, which would essentially be a mono signal instead of stereo.

Is there a way to do this? There's no balance tool in iTunes, and in OSX sound prefs, I can pan the sound all the way to one side, but that doesn't actually combine the channels, it just only plays that one side.

I'm missing half the song on songs that have alot of heavy panning.

Software solution: System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Hearing -> Play stereo audio as mono.

    Enjoy :)

Ahhh... That must be a Snow Leopard addition, it isn't available on Leopard (I posted from my G5). Nice. Unless you're still stuck on PPC macs.

Oh, that's a shame :( I have always admired Apple's accessibility options -- and rather assumed that they have "always been there"...!
