Hey guys, is there any way to use the Sunset/Sunrise complication without enabling location access to "Apple Watch Faces" under the location services settings menu on the iPhone? i dont like giving location access to apps as it drains battery due to frequent location tracking and i like to prevent apps from checking location but it seems like the Sunrise/sunset watch face complication on the apple watch requires having location access enabled for "Apple Watches Faces" under location services and i'd really like to continue using the sunrise/sunset complication.

Well, uh, tracking your location kind of is what location tracking is supposed to do... :) That's what you're asking for, when you turn the feature on.

and i like to prevent apps from checking location
You can enable tracking on an individual app basis I believe; just turning location tracking on isn't carte blanche access for all apps. Also, maybe if you distrust your apps you should consider why exactly you're using that app in the first place and maybe decide if you don't want to anymore.

What I meant in my question was whether there was a way I can manually set a location for the Apple Watch and the sunrise/sunset complication to use (New York) somewhere under settings so that there won’t be any more need to check for my location which rarely changes as i don't travel on a regular basis and so that “Apple Watch Faces” doesn't constantly keep on checking for my location several times a day.

I suspect, although I haven't tried this, that if you allow location tracking initially until it finds your location, then turn off location tracking, it may remember it.

It doesn’t. The complication stops working entirely by displaying no sunrise/sunset data at all several hours after it realizes “Apple Watch Faces” is no longer allowed to access location access
