Is there any way to make Siri less verbose? I had an echo dot connected to my Philips hue lights and whenever I gave a command it just did it but on my HomePod Siri likes to tell me all the steps it is going through when I’d rather they just happened without me being told. I want to say the command and it just happen, nothing having to be told to me.

Anyone know if that can be done and if so, how??

thanks.

I know what you mean.
Asking siri to divide two numbers has siri read the whole sum when I just want the answer!

Hopefully, the one or two guys that actually work on HomePod software will read this sort of comments and pick up on it. The update is long overdue it still has major issues . You buy two of them & you are $600 in and the damn thing still doesn't work!! If they don't get it to an acceptable level More people will start going with Google and Amazon versions

Just like with computers, 95% is user error.
And just like with computers, a little reading goes a long way.

I find this to be hit or miss. Sometimes Siri will read back what’s she has accomplished and sometimes she’ll just do it without confirmation. Might be device specific. Now that I think about it, she does confirm Hue operations but not Leviton Decora. Maybe has to do with being connected to a bridge or direct to WiFi/Bluetooth Hmm, I’ll do more testing...

I was under the impression that if the device you want to control is in the same room as the HomePod your giving the command to, then it won't say anything....if the command is for a device in a different room to the HomePod your giving the command to, then it will speak out a confirmation???

I just tested this with my hue lights....asking my lounge HomePod to turn on and then off the lounge lights was done in silence......asking the lounge HomePod to turn on and off the kitchen lights and a verbal confirmation was given.

Yeah that would actually make the most sense. Maybe I was mistaken for this. I’ll give it a whirl as well, but later today when the family is up.
