Partner and I have the 3 earphones mentioned above and we use them for work, cycling, working out and general listening to music and audiobooks.

Both of us love them and have got tons of use, pushing 8 to 10 hours daily each since release but now we've had the go-ahead to WFH permanently.. we'd both like something that sounds better with music, but also is super comfortable.

As much as I love the PBP and AirPods/Pro's I think I'd like to try a decent set of over ear types. Bose has an ad out for new Quiet Comfort 45 cans which look nice. Noise cancelling and noise isolation is a big deal for us at home now as there's times one of us with jump on Zwift for a quick session while the other will be in a meeting. No matter how much we've tried, the indoor trainer still does make a noise that can be heard throughout the home.

Music.. I'd love something that sounds 'full' compared to our earbuds, and audiobooks.. I listen to a lot. I live on sci-fi audiobooks from Audible but not sure if can style headphones would make any difference there.

Is anyone in the same kinda boat and has experience with headphones? Not really something either of us here have really got much exp with. We just kinda both used cheap wired earphones all our lives until we got the PBPs and AirPods.

The Bose headphones are popular for a reason. They are comfortable and versatile. I have old Bose non-ANC cans and they have been a real workhorse for me over the years, well worth the $200CAD or so I paid. Battery is still good but even when those die, they’ll still work with a cord. This is one of the reasons I chose them, so they wouldn’t just become e-junk one day.
Sony is another brand to have on your radar.
I’ve got v1 AirPods in the meantime and love them as well. But I still switch back to the Bose cans for winter.

I have a number of Bose kits: over ear, around-ear, and in-ear. I have two sets for aviation in the airplane. You can knock Bose-labeled car audio and even their home audio isn’t for everyone, but the headsets are pretty great with, at the time I bought mine, industry-leading noise canceling.

Sound quality is subjective. I prefer the sound signature of my AirPods Pro compare to Bose, but your ear adapts to just about anything in a few minutes.

It’s hard to beat the noise reduction of cans with ANC.

I have a set of the Bose earbuds (sorry don't remember the model number or name) and I really liked the sound. But I was constantly having issues switching Bluetooth devices - especially when I got my first Apple Watch - so I gave up on them. And no, I have not tried them on the newer Apple devices/Airpods.

I’ll add that my Bose cans don’t seem to have the highest quality Bluetooth circuitry. I will sometimes get interference from passing (presumably Bluetooth-equipped) cars and it garbles my audio. That’s been an annoyance over the years, but not a deal breaker.
