So my order this morning at 8AM gave me a 21W M/M sizing. Just now I tried on the light seal order page, and got 25W. Trying again on the main order page, I got 21W M/M again.

I'm guessing that might mean I'm somewhere in-between sizes. I guess it is good I'm picking up at an Apple store so maybe I'll have a chance to swap if it doesn't fit properly.

Anyone else getting variable sizing on different scans? And do we know what this is even measuring? I imagine it is something like brow size in mm, as I seem to be about 21mm if I measure from temple to temple.

I initially thought it was something in millimeters too, but I don't think so anymore after seeing there are 28 different sizes, and not every number is accounted for (15-20, 27-32). Plus, if it were in millimeters, would there really be much of a difference between something like 21W and 22W to warrant two sizes? I doubt the face scan would be that accurate down to the millimeter either.

My guess is that it's some arbitrary number based on your facial profile (forehead, nose, cheekbones, etc). Needing optical inserts can also affect the size you need.

These are all the sizes for the face seal:
  • 11N
  • 11W
  • 12N
  • 12W
  • 13N
  • 13W
  • 14N

I’d love to know the measurements of the bands. The face scan this morning gave me small for both, but I’ve redone it several times after things calmed down and it keeps giving me mediums.

I'm guessing N/W is just Narrow/Wide. But interesting that there are four "increments" between my two different readings.

I also wonder for the bands, has anyone gotten a mixture of sizes? Or does being a small in one always result in a small of the other?
