Usually around this time of afternoon I notice my carrier text scrolls. Does anyone know why?

I’ve tried to find the answer and closest I’ve found is WiFi-Calling. Problem is I DO NOT use WiFi-Calling, nor is it turned on, nor am I on WiFi.

Anyone else notice this (other than ATT)?

Any help is appreciated!

Interesting! I have yet to notice this on my wife’s XR... heck that’s the best answer I’ve heard that’s made sense...

Thanks for info

[doublepost=1544648027][/doublepost]Mine scrolls, too, but I do have wifi calling enabled, since I live in a bad signal area at the present time. I never noticed it until a couple of weeks ago. Don’t recall seeing it do that before then. Also, since we are both on AT&T, maybe it’s peculiar to them?

Definitely odd! Brother on Verizon and he has yet noticed scrolling as well... maybe a bug.

It might be scrolling because the name is too long. My carrier’s name, Bell, never scrolls unless WiFi calling is enabled.

If you look at pics It’s Att and like said earlier WiFi-Calling is NOT enabled, don’t use it, and not on WiFi when it happens.

It does make sense... my wife has the XR as well and doesn’t do it either. Buddy has XS Max as well but in Verizon and his doesn’t do it either. Really weird.

I have Verizon and it does at random as well. I don’t have WiFi calling on.

I thought it had something to do with a carrier update.

Great to know! Glad it’s others as well. Not sure it has to do with carrier update as I’m not getting the update notice...

I have been wondering this too since getting our phones last week. My wife, son, and I all got XS max phones and they all do this randomly. We are on att and no wifi calling is disabled. I have searched everywhere and can’t find the reason why.

I’ve never had an update notice with my max either even though an update has installed though. That’s why I thought it did that animation to let you know an update was installed.

Usually in past you go into Settings/General/About and usually you’ll get the Carrier Update Prompt. If it does it in the background then that’s Interesting as well!

Are you on att?

You gave the right answer, but everyone ignored you. Thus from now on your name shall be Cassandra.

What? None of this is correct. I have Att, WiFi-Calling is OFF (don’t use it) and times it scrolls I’m NOT on WiFi....

Maybe we should call you Cassandra LOL

I’ve gone into settings quite a few times since owning my max and have never gotten an update prompt. It’s been updating in the background I guess. And I’m on Verizon.

Only time I had a Carrier Update was iTunes when I first got it. I’m sitting on carrier ATT 34.0 so next time I see it I’ll look and see if it updates above 34.0
