I use a chest strap heart rate monitor which connects with my Apple watch and typically it over rides the Apple heart rate monitor automatically, but not always.

Is there anyway to manually turn off Apples heart rate monitor? Can't find any type of setting for it.

I thought that if a BT HR strap was connected to the AW, the built-in HR sensor automatically turns off. What situations are you running into where the built-in HR sensor turns on?

Could it be an issue with the BT connection crapping out for a short period? Or is it specific apps that aren't behaving nicely?
