Roll Tide
I purchased a new MacBook Air today. It had 4 updates pending so I clicked to update all. The iMovie app told me it couldn’t update because of some problem with my Apple ID, so I deleted it (I think) since I don’t use it. Now the update still shows as pending and I can’t get it to go away. I’ve restarted the computer and made sure everything with iMovie is deleted (or there isn’t anything there when I search for it). How can I get the notification to go away that there is an update pending? It’s annoying me LOL.

You need to "purchase" to clear. Don't recall exact steps, but seem to recall that you need to look at your purchase history, and there should be a button there (it's in a limbo state and needs you to accept t&c for it).

ADD: and then can hide the "purchases" in App Store. That should hide any updates. Or delete the programs off the Mac.

How does one reveal "purchased" items in the Mojave version of App Store?
I just looked and I must be missing something.

OP:
Sometimes the best approach is... "just ignore it"... ;)

I tried the hide purchase thing and it doesn't work. It is still there. I am chatting with apple on twitter now, so we will see how it goes.

The other thing that annoys me with the MacBook, and it's probably an operating system issue, is when I'm on here typing or on Twitter/Facebook, it won't capitalize words after a period. On my iPad, when I go to Safari and type in a message board or wherever it will capitalize words after a period. It also adds an apostrophe when I need it, but on the MacBook I have to enter it myself like when I am using it's instead of it is. I might be the only person who cares about that, but I found it strange iOS does it but not this operating system. It is something I'll have to get used to.

Store > View My Account

Another place to look: Store > View My Account, then click "View Information". There is a section, Hidden Purchases, might have to click there next to Pages etc.

As mentioned earlier, ran into similar, just do not remember what clicks I did in App Store to clear things.
