Apple Card Promo Doubles Daily Cash Back on Nike Purchases

Apple is teaming up with Nike for an Apple Card promotion that gives extra Daily Cash back.

For the next month, Apple Card users can get 6% Daily Cash back when making a purchase with Apple Card using Apple Pay at a Nike retail store, the Nike website or Swoosh website, or Nike's apps.

The Apple Card normally offers 3% cash back on Nike purchases, so the bonus is doubled during the promotion period (June 15 to July 15).

Apple Card holders can get the 6% Daily Cash back on up to $500 in purchases, for a total of $30 back. The deal is available to Apple Card owners, co-owners, and participants, so multiple family members can take advantage of the bonus offer.

Most Apple Pay purchases provide 2% Daily Cash, but Apple has partnered with companies like Nike to increase that to 3%. Extra cash back is available when using Apple Pay and Apple Card for purchases at Ace Hardware, Apple retail stores, ChargePoint, Duane Reade, Hertz, Booking.com, Uber, and Walgreens.

Ace hardware is overpriced.

Hardly ever use Uber.

Those deals are negotiated with the various retailers. We can safely assume that the extra 1% cash back at Walgreens and Ace is being paid by those stores not Apple or Goldman Sachs. And those stores can afford it because they already charge higher prices than their competitors.

That said, CVS is just as overpriced as Walgreens so they should get in on the 3% cash back deal too.

I still have the Savor card with 4% back on dining for $95/year (or something like that), and with my dining out every day I'm getting a nice kickback.

My recent purchase from Nike was back in April because other stores weren't opened yet. I don't really see a lot of incentive at all from this card besides from Apple products/services. Amex is still my primary choice.

I switched from my Apple Card to a Robinhood Gold card. That has 3% on every purchase with the physical card or through Apple Pay. You need a Robinhood Gold account though, which is only like $50/year.

I’d happily switch back to my Apple Card if it was 3% on everything though, even if I did have to pay a little more annually. It's just easier to manage.

Tim Cook trying to prop up Nike's sales and stock price. Remember, he bought 50,000 shares at roughly $58.97 per share. Nike closed today at $45.20 per share. So he's down about 23.4%

Dang, saying you eat out every day with the prices where they are nowadays is one of the biggest flexes you can do.

With that said I'll figure out if the extra 95/yr on Savor is worth it with my spending habits.

If you have narrow feet and in particular if you have skinny heels, Nike are highly likely to be what you want on your feet. That's the key for me. Which tells me this is probably kind of a niche promotion. What sort of feet do some of these newer brands like Vomeros or Hoka favor?

If you dine out daily a 4% cashback isn’t softening the financial bleed. You buying groceries and cooking at home 3 nights a week would save you tens of thousands a year.

In order for that extra 1% cashback to cover the $95 annual fee a cardholder would have to spend an additional $9,500/yr. Not worth it for anyone not already spending over $10k annually on their Apple Card.
