I was thinking about getting Apple Care and I was wondering if anyone bought extended warranties from Apple Care or Best Buy. Are they worth buying?

Unless you need ongoing tech support, the best deal is if you have a good credit card that offers extended warranty for free with the option to extend. Usually you get double the manufacturer's warranty at no cost and then, for a fee that is less than Applecare, get an addition 2-3 years coverage. They usually offer a no-lemon policy, battery replacement and other benefits that Apple doesn't offer . The only thing you don't get is the phone support.

Why pay extra if you don't have to!
