Her presentation was EXTREMELY cringeworthy IMO... but that doesn't define if she's a good executive or not. I think is fine if she wants to do the auction, why not?

Give it 5 years. I cringed when I first heard "bling", "booty", and all those other urban words. Now that we have adopted them and I hear Becky and Nancy yell "Bling Bling" while saying "look at my booty!", it's sounds almost normal - even though 15 years ago those words were primarily used among urban youth of the African American persuasion.
"Get my strut on" is very new colloquial term primarily used among inner city youth to describe what we would phrase as "walking with confidence and an aura of invincibility".

In 5years i'll be saying "get my strut on" too - but for now, it's a bit cringeworthy.
I never got comfortable with my elders saying "gotta boogie", or "gotta book", or those younger than me saying "rad" or sweeeet!", or things like "supermodel" and "power lunch" or folks oddly emphasizing words or dragging out the last word in a sentence as if their thought buffer unexpectedly emptied, such things just seem so vapid.

The words bling and booty don't bother me as much as the folks that think they have to live them. IDK, maybe it's the in your face nature that I associate with them. While I also think tucking ones ears under a giant baseball cap looks silly like wearing one's belt at the top of ones thighs.

All that said, I think Ms. St. John was a good dresser, much better than most of the presenters, and was knowledgeable, vivacious, pretty and fun.

I can't believe some of these comments... Actually, I can believe some of these comments. She looks different than the usual Apple lineup... let me not sugar coat it, we are talking about a woman that is also black, who presented at an Apple event. Bozoma Saint John brought a unique energy to that keynote, she has incredible personality and she literally woke up that crowd, who were half way unconscious. Whether they sang along or not is irrelevant, people were genuinely showing interest in the presentation. Let's see how many will say that these negative responses have nothing to do with the combination of ethnicity and gender.

The only one bringing ethnicity and gender into the conversation is you.

I'm sure she is a fun lady but I wouldn't spend 10 grand to have lunch with her.
