Apple has more cash than US

    Well it is official. Apple now has more cash than the US government. :eek:

    Considering the government is $15 trillion in the whole, I have more money than the government. I do understand the point of the article though, and that's just sad.

    But yeah it isn't really comparing Apples to governments. Still something to make you go "hmmm...."

    Apple holding more cash than USA

    Apple now has more cash to spend than the United States government.

    Latest figures from the US Treasury Department show that the country has an operating cash balance of $73.7bn (£45.3bn).

    Apple's most recent financial results put its reserves at $76.4bn (£46.9bn).

    Both parties share the blame for the mess that we are in today. Our government has been in financial trouble for decades now. It really makes me wonder if they really are that stupid or if this is all about leading our nation in a predetermined direction?

    You're confusing net worth and liquid assets cash or equivalents. Apple is "worth" somewhere north of $250 billion.

    So that makes Gates $100 billion a few years ago meaningless.
