Got my top spec M4 Pro yesterday with 48Gb Ram and 1Tb SSD and this thing flies. I’m loving the single core performance of the M4, MacOS has never felt snappier, everything operates nearly instantly. I have 8 desktops open through Mission Control and filled them all with tons of apps including Parallels 20 running Windows 11, doesn’t skip a beat.

I’m running it at 4K 144Hz via HDMI 2.1 and the image quality pops. GeForce Now runs perfectly on it as expected as well. It’s a little super computer and I’m happy to give it 10/10, if you are undecided just go for it.

Yep. I upgraded from the M1 version (which was great BTW) but this little box is excellent. I dont do alot of heavy stuff but the 8GB was beginning to be a bottleneck as Chrome gets heavier. I bascically hoooked everrything up, plugged in my 2 monitors and put the mini on the floor behind the desk.

It's a hell of machine for $500. If storage becomes an issue, ill add a thunderbolt drive and it'll be fine for few more years.

On the floor? I wouldn’t do that…

I'm quite impressed with the base Mac mini, too. I bought my dad the absolute base, least expensive model to replace his 2010 27" iMac whose SSD finally died.

I got him all setup and running with it this afternoon, and I am quite impressed with it's performance. I had to teach dad on how to use TouchID and the new Apple Passwords app. Restoring his Time Machine backup from macOS High Sierra went perfectly, too.

I'm thinking about getting a Mac mini for myself, too.

Did you use the iMac as an external monitor for the mini?

The ONLY thing I don't like with my new setup (replacing 2019 MacBook Air w/ external monitor) is seeing the speaker cable plugged into the front of the box...wish it was in the back. Everything else is fantastic.
