I didn't ask for it. In fact, I didn't even install iOS 11 today. I've been running the GM since last week.

However, I just noticed Apple pushed out the TV app to my phone. That happened earlier to my Apple TV, but I didn't know phones would get it automatically too.

BTW, the first time they tried to install it, it failed. I had to restart the install.

I'm in Canada.

Other people aren’t getting this?

It’s the new Videos app. You have to either take it or downgrade to iOS 10.

(Just got it too in Australia).

I was curious though why I didn’t get it with iOS 11. It came separately.

Probably because the new site or licensing deals weren’t available until iOS 11 release.

Got mine with the install. Not sure why yours waws different.

We were on the Public Beta Program.

So delete it and move on.
I didn’t say I wanted it deleted. I just said it got pushed to the phone long after I installed iOS 11 and was curious why.

But yes, you can delete it if you want.

Ah, that makes sense.

Seems a bit strange though since this app got no developer or public beta testing here then.

Yes. I’ve had this version of iOS 11 over a week, and older versions of iOS 11 over a month.

I got an update on the App Store for it, but i didn't install.
Have you got auto-updates turned on??

Nope.

However, I did have automatic App downloads turned on. Same for Music and Books & Audiobooks. I've since turned all of that off.

Some seem to have TV installed with iOS 11, some not, and some get it later. Consistency is somewhat missing in this 'upgrade'. And we won't even discuss why the icon looks different than every other built-in Apple app...

Meanwhile, if you don't get the app and you want access to your videos (duh), if you go to the App Store > Search > Videos, you will find Apple's own Videos - it looks like the one on iOS 10.x. Download that.
