Apple poised to build nearly 400K next-gen MacBook Airs this month

    so they shipped 1 million airs in 13 weeks (q1)
    that's 80000/wk
    so they just ordered 1 weeks supply of old airs

    that rate may be lower now, since the sb mbp release. and who knows how many they still have up their sleeve. although plenty of big retailers were low on stock recently. anyway im going to pull a number out my ass and say tuesday after next. june 21. based on this hard science above.

    edit: my brain tells me it will be in july with lion but i'm not listening

    Definitely looks like Apple is positioning the Air as the "entry level" Macbook

    I was hesitant about purchasing my MBA, but after using it at the Apple store I bit and bought it. I have only missed the optical drive about 3-4 times, so I purchased the portable one just for when I need it. But, overall I'm very happy with it. The portability is perfect.
