As usual, MR posts the article without waiting for the update to be actually available :)

So they should wait until the update is released to *you*, and that makes it official?

Software updates roll out geographically, and they may have some other way of segregating them across devices. Not everyone sees the updates at the same time. It's a deliberate decision to spread out the load on their servers.

I'll probably update tonight after running a time machine backup!

Question for anyone running it, is there iMessage filtering?! I just love getting a junk text that my phone doesn't show, but it's prominent in macOS.

I see Ventura 13.6 available in Software Update (I'm on 13.5.2) but not Sonoma. Anyone know whether I need to update to 13.6 first before 14 shows up? Given how long these updates take, I'd rather just go straight to 14 if possible.

Oh look! A new macOS patch. Neat !
Unlike IOS 17 which used a late beta build at the factory for shipping, and later had to have a 17.0.1/.0.2 patch for security and the cloud transfer bug, MacOS had a normal beta cycle with 2 RC's. It is very solid public release when shipping today. Been using it on 2 Macs since WWDC. ;)

Yup nothing new for me either and I was running RC2, build 23A344.

Little surprised as I have the Feedback Assistant installed and I can't remove it. Is that something that's always there with macOS or is it just because I downloaded it from beta/RC? I have turned off the beta profile.

With iOS the Feedback app goes when switching off the beta profile so I expected the same to happen with macOS but apparently not.

I’m sad that Apple dropped support for 2017 iMacs. I’m in the market for a 24” but it’s yet to be updated.
Mac mini with monitor? Not the same but a viable alternate for many. In fact, I prefer separate. Biggest downside for me is not having built in camera and mic. Keep answering the phone on the mini and crickets.
