After installing Safari Tech preview a few hours ago, I had about 3 unexpected logs out While using it, the previous update barely cause my mac to suddenly log out (actually I don't remember it doing so), this has been happening with the default safari that's why I installed the Tech Preview and the previous version was way stable than the one released today so far

I installed the beta 2 and it's using an extreme amount of system resources. Memory and CPU usage are very high. A window popped up asking me to force quit applications because it's using too much memory. So definitely buggy! I was using beta 1 before and it was fine.

This is on 10.15.6 public release.

Ok, maybe someone on 10.15.6 can confirm that. cache memory used by safari is also an issue for me but not like the default safari which eats up all the available SSD space in less than an hour I have not used the new beta long enough to know if the issue is worse now

I installed it on my 2012 MacBook Pro (also running 10.15.6) and it's not having that issue. My 2013 Mac Pro is having the issue. It didn't start until after I installed the Safari update. So what I've done now is restarted in Recovery Mode, disabled SIP, deleted the Safari app, and now reinstalling macOS from Recovery Mode. I hope that fixes it. I'll wait to install Safari 14 again on it until the final release.

I am on 10.15.6 and have none of your issues. Safari is always loaded.

My method to downgrade Safari didn't work. Safari wouldn't open. So then I tried to install the beta 1 and it wouldn't let me. So I installed beta 2 again. Same issue as before. High kernel task memory usage. I restarted into Big Sur to see if it has the same issue. It does. So I restarted into Mojave that still has Safari 13 and it does not have the issue. It would be interesting to know if other Mac Pro 2013 users are having this issue with the current Safari 14 beta.

Well it's not doing it now, so I'm not sure what the issue was. The columns were missing in Activity Monitor so I deleted the preferences file to restore them. I'll keep an eye on it.
