Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced over two years ago in March of 2016. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview release 57 includes bug fixes and feature improvements for JavaScript, Animations, Storage Access API, Security, Media, Accessibility, WebDriver, and Web Inspector.

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's aim with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.

They ignore most feedback sadly, we stopped using it altogether, we just update it and check if they fixed any reported stuff.

Appreciate the efforts Apple but not worth dev use.

My problem with using the non tech preview Safari at the moment is as of about 2 weeks ago around when google news changed their format clicking on a news story gives me this instead of actually loading the page... tech preview seems to work normally. Not sure how the original got broke. Tried emptying cache, etc.

[doublepost=1527719477][/doublepost]... after playing with just about every option it appears to be fixed by disabling 'Enable content blockers' under 'Settings for this website...' even though that feature is enabled in tech preview version. So it has something to do with google not playing well with the content blocking feature in the non tech preview safari. I actually don't remember ever enabling that option and think it was enabled by default so still not sure how it became broke unless it coincidentally happened with changes google made to the news page that now apple has fixed in tech preview safari?
