Tried to call the apple retail store in Florida. Seems like they are clueless. A co worker of mine shattered her 4S front screen. It also won't turn on. It was about a 4 foot drop.

With the upcoming iPhone 5, usually Apple charges $199 for their current top of the line iphone out of warranty replacement due to water damage, broken screens etc.

But their second tier devices drop to $149.

With the iPhone 5 3 days away, they "don't know" if the price is $149 or $199 for a 4S replacement?

So does anyone "know" if the price is $149 vs. $199 during this transition period?

I am currently on hold with apple for the past 20 minutes so annoyed.

Their website lists $199 as the out of warranty replacement it's out for the 4S. I wouldn't expect them to charge you any less than that.

They aren't allowed to tell you over the phone. They want to see the phone in the store before they quote a price.

Price may be different on Friday.

But, you need to go into the store to find out anything like that.
