That looks like a hack Photoshop job. Enlarging it shows varying levels of JPG compression across the image, as if elements were cut and pasted elsewhere from other JPGs.

The Apple logo has also been distorted to a not-true perspective — more like an ISO view, something which I'm sure Apple's marketing creatives wouldn't put up with.

I call bogus.

That'd be right. The invite parts are all sent in HTML format. So, converted to an image will cause that

No... I blurred them out. I dont know if I'm allowed to tell you.

that looks like an airport express LED

agreed - very much an airport express styled invite (if it turns out to be legit).
I'd be keen to hear the date of this event though?

if it is legit then it will be only a matter of hours before we get the full story on the internet with dates :D

if fake then nothing

The date is Friday Feb 24th. I can't give you the RSVP though

Yeah, the date's a bit old but this is one of my invites....

Just found out on wiki, apparently it's also Steve's birthday!

i call fake...

Stock image. no creative.

no slogan (didn't the last few have teasers on them...?)

friday and saturday are the WORST days to grab media attention

i wish i was wrong though.....

And the author of this thread has changed the date over on appleinsider..

I recant my theory and call this lame bunk.
Besides Feb 22nd is a holiday in the USA

George Washington's Birthday

That's great, especially the eMac. Seems like agos ago now that it disappeared from the consumer market with barely a mention.

As for this invitation, it doesn't look that real, (as others have stated, Apple never give things away before a special event that much). I hope it is though, I may be in the market for an Airport base station of some kind soon. I'd love an Airport Expess A/V, even if I would be unlikely to use the video streaming so much, if at all.

there's no indication in the events section of the moscone website of an apple event during that time period. is that normal??
