Hey, I was wondering if Apple gives out store credit, and if so how much for the following items:

    1GB 1st generation iPod shuffle
    30GB iPod Video (white)

I want credit to go towards a new Macbook so do I just bring them the items and charger and they simply give me store credit...could someone elaborate please? Thanks.

I'll admit I know nothing of store credit, but why would Apple give you credit for products that are not even on the line-up anymore ? Surely the first-gen shuffle is worth next to nothing (no offence) and the 30GB iPod, very little.

If they did I doubt it'd go towards much, you'd probably get a very bad deal on them.

Apple has a recycling program if thats what your talking about, but they don't give you anything for that.

Their recycling program is to keep Greenpeace off their backs.

    10% credit

I was in an apple store yesterday, and brought in my 30 g 3rd generation ipod which doesn't hold a charge (not a huge issue because it sits in the trunk of my car hooked up to my DICE).
The salesperson said that an exchange for a refurbed unit would be $70.
Or if I recycled it, I'd get 10% off on any new ipod.
For $20, I'd give it to my kid, so it's back to the trunk.
