I reserved mine at the forum shops location...

however, I am coming in from out of town and will be in the area for vacation. I have no clue what to expect for an iPhone launch in vegas. any tips from past launches....especially related to the forum shops location. ie: where/when I should line up?? what were the lines like for the 3G/3GS?

    thanks guys!!

How many people are at town square right now?

    @auburnfan24
Most likely you will be able to wait for it while in the forum shops.

If you don't know, ask the Apple Staff and/or the Security Office for some help on where.

I would say a day or two before the launch if your in going to a apple store.

There are only THREE in vegas. :B

Some of the lines were okay and organized.
I don't know if they ask you questions or fill out anything in while in the line like AT&T.
Some of them were messed up, but you would be organized once you entered.

    That's all I know.

I will be going to the launch at town square, but I didn't preorder mine so I guess I'll have to be there pretty early. Around midnight-3AM. I'm bringing supplies, too. :D

So I waited on line at Town Square 2 years ago for the iPhone 3G, there were issues with people being told they couldn't line up till 5 or six but I got there around 4:30am and was probably I think like, 33rd in line. This was before reservations of coarse and the following year I didn't wait at all for my 3GS and cause I worked at the Apple Store in Town Square and was able to sneak in on my lunch break from my other job. But even with reservations, expect there to be lines all launch weekend, the 3GS had lines for almost a month whenever we had them in stock. Fashion Show can be tricky to line up for cause that mall closes, I think they let you line up somewhere between 6 and 7, not sure, Caesar's Forum Shops is always kind of open (the mall, not the stores) because of the Casino, that's prob the best bet, it's the slowest by far of the 3 Vegas Apple Stores and if you reserved there, you should have up to 11 PM to pick it up that day, even then, expect to wait a bit but at least you'll be indoors unlike Town Square. I don't work there anymore so will prob be on line at Town Square or just go after work since they hold the phone till 9:30pm. I would expect lots of activation difficulties cause if just trying to pre-order crashed AT&T servers, just imagine the hell it's going to be trying to activate 2-3 million iPhones next weekend. Good Luck!!!

What time is recommended to get there to get an adequate spot in line? (I didn't pre-order).

I'm not going to TS (have to get an upgrade swap, easier at AT&T + easier to wait in line), but are you guys sure you can bring chairs? I remember in the past that it wasn't allowed. Good luck to you guys, though. Wish I could be at an Apple Store instead! :p

I have to get an upgrade swap, too. I thought Apple could do that. If they can't, then I'm SOL.

Any Apple Store can upgrade/swap an iPhone, you don't have to go to AT&T for that. If they say 4am, that's when you should get there if you didn't pre-order. Security usually makes you get rid of the chairs, you can try it though. Store opens at 7am.

Welp, looks like AT&T announced they aren't carrying any phones for those that didn't preorder. I'll be joining you guys at Town Square... I have to get a few things answered, and if you guys know anything, lemme know plx (calling later):

    a) I've read multiple different things, but can Apple Stores take care of upgrade swaps on a family account?

    b) My family account gets a state discount. Can the Apple Store still get me all set up (or at the very least, let me get a phone)?

    c) What time did the line for the 3GS start at TS? FS? Forum Shops?

    Thanks guys.

I just called again and they said the same thing you can line up anytime you want. Guess I will be there a bit earlier then to try to beat the crowd.

How can we trust you are telling the truth? :D

Who's to say they didn't tell you 3am and you plan on getting there first?

Enjoy the new phone -- I will be jealous of all you folks for about 12 months.

Some nuts tried lining up this morning but security chased them away. It was probably in their best interest - sitting on a sidewalk in 100 degree heat can't be good for ya. They said they would allow people to start loitering ... err, lining up ... at 10. The Town Center store alone has 1000 pre-orders to deal with tomorrow.

    line yet?

So has anyone actually been over there to check out the situation? Or is the consensus to shop up at 10 when things are closing down for the night?
