Apparently QT7 will not be updated to 64-bit. QT Pro lacks some of the features that QT7 has, notably the ability to read/write older, 32-bit, video and image formats, notably JPEG200 and older MOV. I've got a very large number of older image and video files, going back over 25 years, on some of my personal and work systems. Any idea on how to detect which ones will not be supported by QT Pro? Any idea as to whether 3rd-party apps, such as Graphic Converter and VLC, will be able to continue to handle these file formats (I very rarely use Apple apps for video or images) or if they depend on Apple-issued, 32-bit, codecs which will stop working soon? There used to be a nice collection of codecs available from https://www.perian.org but Perian's been dead since OS X 10.8. Any idea if there's a replacement on the horizon?
