Apple to Release These 20 New Products Across Rest of 2026 and 2027

Apple's annual WWDC developers conference is in the rearview mirror, but there is still a lot to look forward to over the next year and beyond.

In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman listed around 20 products that he expects Apple to release across the remainder of 2026 and 2027.

Now that the more intelligent and personal version of Siri has finally arrived in beta, a full two years after Apple first previewed it at WWDC 2024, we should begin to see some new devices that were reportedly postponed until the new Siri was ready.

Beyond the usual annual updates to iPhones and Apple Watches in September, Gurman said Apple's all-new smart home hub could still arrive this year. He is also expecting a foldable iPhone Ultra and long-awaited updates to the Apple TV and HomePod mini. And a redesigned MacBook Ultra with an OLED display is expected by early next year.

Here is what to expect from Apple by the end of 2027, according to Gurman and other sources.

Just read this piece and my takeaway was...

So all the usual spec bumps and the same rumored things we've been hearing about forever ... some for years now.

Like, how much longer can one pontificate about a new Apple TV?

They rug pulled us 4k 1st gen folks, despite it running tvOS 26 just fine, and the current "new" one is nearly four years old.

Lots of people (including myself) have speculated for months that this is exactly what is going to happen. Unless they delay the M6—and Mark Gurman, at least, wrote that he is thinking the M6 will be introduced sooner than commonly thought, which would have to mean in the next few months at the latest given when Apple has historically been introducing new M chips—it makes zero sense to introduce such products this late in that chip family’s cycle. Both products have long lifecycles, and both have missed M generations before.

At this point, I’m guessing the plan all along was to go to M6 directly–but they just misjudged the AI frenzy, and didn’t have enough already-made respective M3 and M4 capacity for those two products. And they don’t have enough reserved TSMC node capacity to have them make more as they absolutely have to guarantee enough for their higher volume and more important products (iPhones and MacBooks).

Side note—the iMac also has not gotten a M5 update. It seems to get no love. I would bet, at least prior to this AI frenzy, the iMac outsold both the Studio and the mini. I see them at lots of small businesses, and while I prefer larger monitors, that size seems great for lots of people.

I don’t think we will see an M6 MacBook Pro introduced at the same time as an M5 Mac mini and Mac Studio.
If anything, they will jump right from the M4 to the M6 just like how the Mac mini jumped right from the M2 to the M4 and the iMac completely skipped the M2.
Also notice, all of the Apple Silicon Mac minis were introduced at the same time as MacBook Pro’s in 2020 (M1), 2023 (M2) and 2024 (M4).
I think we are likely to see that pattern repeat, with the M6 Mac mini and M6 MacBook pros introduced at the same time.
I could see them doing a split launch with the studio like they did last year, and introducing the M5Ultra at the same time as the M6Pro and Max, just like how at the current moment they are selling the M4Max at the same time as the M3Ultra.
I just think, given that the chip is already almost a year past and The next one is right on the horizon this fall, the time for an M5 Mini has come and gone.

The only thing that would get me to upgrade my Apple TV (A12) would be native AV1 support as my NAS doesn’t support hardware transcoding for it. Otherwise it works just fine and likely will until app support is eventually dropped.

There’s nothing else I can personally justify upgrading.

Let me ask you this, imagine this phone.
An iPhone with polished titanium edges, 5.6 mm thin, dual camera on the back, a 120 Hz OLED Display, A20 chip with 12 GB of RAM, dual stereo speakers, C2 and N2 chip, and a 3500-4000 mAh battery with 256 GB of storage for between $800 and $1000.
Now tell me, am I talking about an iPhone 18 with a slight price increase? Or am I talking about an iPhone Air2?

Oh, that’s right, they’re basically the same.
Seriously, if Apple is going to have to increase the price anyway, it just makes sense to combine the two iPhones. Already there’s so much overlap between the 17e, 17 and Air. Improve the airs main weaknesses (Camera, speaker and battery) and literally the only difference is the thickness and materials used.

Native AV1 support has been built into every Apple chip since 2023, so you are pretty much guaranteed to get your wish.

I’m also happy with my Apple gear currently.

However my enthusiasm for future purchases is muted and fatigued from the company’s shenanigans of the last few years.

The cherry on top was their decision to employ an odd, small short and wide form for the upcoming folding iPhone. Being smaller unfolded it’s unusable for my use case.

Fortunately my Z Fold7 is the ideal tall shape and doing the job nicely.

And its companion product, HomePod Mini. Trade in values better be fantastic because it never lived up to the promise and is now clearly going to be dropped down the memory hole along with the watches that ran the exact same hardware.

And even more ironically in that case, because my Echo of the same or older generation right next to it did get new Alexa and actually works better than ever now. But I seriously doubt Apple will do the same.

Why can’t Apple set aside enough components to crank out 50 M6 Mac Studios to shut us up? Are they afraid that they might get stuck with overstock?

Really hope the desktop Mac updates (be it M5 or M6) are closer to fall 2026 than late 2027.

Esp. when M5 MacBooks are relatively available, compared to the current 13-14 weeks for a M3/M4 Studio.
