This happen to anybody else? I speak a search into the search field and it shows up but then loads and erases. Then I have to keep doing it over and over again.

Anyway to fix this annoying crap?

If you hold down the Siri button for a few seconds after it gets done typing, I noticed that most of the time it does not clear the search.

It is very annoying, but the work around I mention might just make it a little less annoying.

Thanks for asking this question. I’d just assumed I was “holding it wrong.”
Considering it only does this on the YouTube app, it's not on Apple's shoulders but Google's. But hey, I get that you want to dig at Apple just a little more over something a dead guy said years ago...so good times to you I guess.

I can't get it to erase on mine, so can't really test if this solves your issue.

you can ask the "main siri" (not dictation mode, but where you get the bubble on the bottom of the screen) to "search YouTube for ________". this works from the Home Screen and also in any app, as long as you're not in a text entry field. it will launch YouTube and take you to the search window,

Hate to break it to you, but your “some guy” was Apple’s founder and CEO. And, he established corporate philosophy, culture of secrecy, privacy policy, etc. that continues to this day. Hope you’re having fun tilting at the straw man you’re creating from a fever swamp imagination.

Yep - same here. Are you sure this is a YouTube issue and not tvOS? IIRC, it does the same thing in the Prime app...

Yeah, its not just YouTube, this happens throughout tvOS. I also thought it was just me, but it appears not. Very, very frustrating… Am guessing its a bug in the Siri API called through the search function in some/all apps?
