I have an iPhone 4 8GB that has a bad proximity sensor. It is still covered under warranty. My question is, does the phone have to be active on an account to be taken in for replacement?

Is it less than 1 year old? Does it have applecare? Check this on apples website.

I already checked on the Apple website, it's listed as still under warranty. No Applecare though.

You don't need an account. Apple will replace it. :)
