Hey guys! I found what I think is an amazing deal for an Apple Watch Series 7 45mm for $269.99. It’s not the exact color I want but it’s the green which isn’t bad. I’d be switching the band anyways to my favorite nylon ones.

Should I pull the trigger? I’m not worried about the new ones as they will be much more expensive.

I would go for it IF you want and need an Apple Watch. Of course make sure you're okay with the color. There's always something newer going to come along so if you're okay with that then I would go for it.

My question is why is it so cheap? Is it a reputable seller and is it new. Sometimes if something is too good to be true it is.

That sounds like the green Costco deal:). I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that’s probably the lowest price on a 45mm Series 7 that there has been. I can’t imagine you’d get one for less. It‘s hard to go wrong at that price. Personally, I like the Green, Blue and Red series 7’s. They are more limiting in band selection (IMO)…so just make sure you’re cool with that. I’ve got the Red one. Love it. I picked it up for $309 on Amazon’s prime day deals…and thought that was a good price:).

The rumors that I’ve seen past few days on the series 8 is that the base aluminum models aren’t in for much of a change (ie same design and essentially the same chip)….. dropping the blue and green colors and adding back silver….if you can believe the rumors. So, sounds like you’d be getting essentially the same watch for a heck of a deal.

It’s Costco.

I’m curious about how the bands are limited. I can’t use a 42mm band that I currently use on my watch?

Definitely a good deal but I‘d consider that the green case surely doesn’t go with too many band colors IMHO

I think the poster meant that the green case may limit your choice of bands, since some band colors might clash with the green. The 42mm size should be fine on the Series 7.

The good thing about the green is it’s dark enough where it’ll go with my nylon grey band I wear along with a lot of other different colors. It’s not a bright green which would rule it out for me.

Yeah it would be a bigger issue if the green wasn‘t as dark :)

I just meant that…at least from my experience and “eye”…the Green, Blue and Red series 7 watches are tougher to match with different color watch bands. With the SS Apple watches I’ve had in the past….just about any color band worked. With my product Red Series 7 for example, I’m really limited! Besides red, I have the charcoal braided loop band from 2021…that looks fantastic. But many color options just don’t work.

I’d def go for it… I got the Costco “deal” when it was about $410 (? not sure exactly) back in Nov or Dec. 2021. Not sure why or where you’re seeing it for $269 when my Costco price shows $319 for that model/size? Nice tho, I also got the green and I’ve been quite pleased with it.

Another perk for me, which you probably know already, is the >30 (maybe 90?) day return policy from Costco for electronics. Compared to 14 days for Apple, usually. I actually had to use it, annoyingly, as the 1st one I got, often didn’t vibrate notifications. Still happens with the replacement sometimes, however much less frequently, usually have to turn it off and on.

I have never bought a "new" Apple Watch. I bought a used 7 two months after the 7 was released and I have no regrets. I really have no plan to buy the 8. as for iPhones, I always buy a new model and sell the old model. the hit is never that bad that way.

There are some great deals right now on AW 7’s. The Stainless Steel AW7 (with sports band) is $529 at Amazon. I’ve got the Product Red AW7. In the past…I’ve always had the SS versions (original, series 2, series 3, series 5). The SS goes with just about any color band…and I’ve got a huge collection of bands! So, what I did is buy the SS AW7 ($529) and put my AW7 Product Red up for sale on Craigslist for $290. The SS 7 arrives Sunday. I’ve got 30 days to return it. So, I’ll just leave it ”unopened”….and…if I sell the Product Red 7….I’ll keep the SS7. Otherwise, I’ll return it!

Plus, gives me a chance to see what the AW8 brings. If the rumors are to be believed…not much will change in the aluminum and SS models (maybe a new temperature sensor).
