Is there a reason why my Apple Weather homescreen widget never loads after my phone restarts? And when I say never, I mean never. Every. Single. Time. Even after five hours it’s still not working.

The only way to make it “work” again is to add a new widget and delete the old. The lock screen weather widget loads every time without a problem.

Is this a known issue? Would a full reset and starting over fresh from without a backup help?

Can you remove the app, reboot and then reinstall?

This was happening on my other half’s iPhone 11 Pro but with the lock screen widget rather than the home screen one. I don’t think she did anything, it just started working after one of the updates I think.

I know it’s much of help but just acknowledging that I’ve seen a similar issue.

Seen it on my iPad Home Screen widget, but usually loads on its own after a minute or so. ”Forcing” it to load via tapping on it seems to do it for me as well.

I also see widget no loading since last update. Widget says weather unavailable. When I open the Weather app not all location fetch data.

Sometimes widget shows weather unavailable but when I open the app my location has loaded with all weather info and sometimes is other way around.

Tapping it does nothing (other than to open the weather app, which displays all the weather data normally).

This has been happening to me since the initial release of iOS 16.

Back to Carrot I go...which is fine, but I really wish Apple would get it together. Could save me a little money, lol

I’m having issues with the Weather widget now. I restarted my phone yesterday and now the tile is blank. This widget has always kinda sucked so I guess it’s time for something new.

No, that is a new issue. This has happened to me from the start of iOS 16.

I have the same area for my weather widget and get the same after a reboot...it DOES finally load up after 2, 3 minutes.

BUT...the issue I keep having is this "No Weather Data" pops up all the time now. (If I tap on the widget, I see no weather at all in 10 cities I have loaded up)

It happened a few times before 16.4. But now...it's constant. Working earlier, I guess when it reloaed with updated weather it's failing??

No idea what is happening!

Noticed this issue yesterday myself, I even updated iOS with no luck. Quit a few apple apps and services have become a little buggy over the past week or so. My Apple ID photo on iPhone has changed out of nowhere to a photo that isn't even on my phone and on the other devices it's the same as it has always been.

I experimented today and tried putting the calendar widget where the the weather widget was. Rebooted my phone and the calendar widget won’t load. So I think it’s something with the location of the widget. The odd thing is it only seems to happen with native apps. Carrot Weather’s widget loads every time.

Following up on this, I did a full reset on my phone this morning. Widget behavior seems normal now. I am guessing my backups were carrying over corrupted data.

Now I have to re-load 700gb of stuff onto my phone, which is a joy, but hey, at least it's working normally. Apple Music finally noticed I am subscribed through my Verizon plan, too. So I guess the full wipe was long overdue in my case.

I’m still on 16.3.1 on my 14 pro and my weather widget has been going on and off randomly for months. The past couple weeks has been worse but it’s back working fine the past couple of days. Figured it was a server side issue. No need to go nuclear and start wiping my phone.

I'm pretty sure it's a server issue and no need to wipe phone. Thankfully Weather started working again for me as well, so hopefully Apple is hearing feedback.
