...on a non-Jailbroken iPod Touch. The apps. that are crashing are Mobile MySpace and TextFree Lite, both of which were purchased/gotten at the app. store.

Also, the iPod was restored to factory settings and the offending apps. were deleted and reinstalled but my friend still has the same problem.

Any suggestions?
 
Has your friend tried restarting it? Installing apps sometimes messes with the OS. It's recommended to restart after an app installation.

Hold the top button in for a few seconds. You'll get a swipey thing at the top that says "Slide to power off". Slide it, watch it go off, wait about 10 seconds, then hit the top button again.
