This info should maybe be posted as a sticky? I could be important for people who switch countries in iTunes.

Here is something that happend to me, when I moved to the Netherlands and therefore switched from the German iTunes store to the Dutch store:

The batch in iTunes showed me that there were x updates available. But when I clicked the link to the iTunes update page I got the message "no updates available". After a while I found out that even though for some apps updates were released, they didn't appear on the "my updates" page in iTunes. Looking further at the problematic apps I found that there were two categories:

    1. apps that had a different name in the Dutch store (e.g. Währung --> Currency)
    2. other apps (e.g. Bloomberg or Things)

So I had to update the apps manually by clicking the "buy/get app" button. Then iTunes would tell me that this was a free update and I wouldn't be charged for it.

I am also sending Apple an email about this. Maybe something in their code is wrong. I can understand the problematic for apps that have different names in different countries. But something went clearly wrong with the updates for Bloomberg etc.

Wow, I've just come across the same problem. The only difference is that I moved from the Netherlands to Germany ;) Your solution works, unfortunately it requires going through all the apps manually as iTunes doesn't show for which apps the updates are available...

One more problem is that now after changing the countries I cannot buy apps from the iPhone any more. It get a message asking to change my credit card details. But everything is already set. My card matches the country, etc. Have you had this problem as well?

    Groetjes!

I updated my credit card information (switch from a German credit card to a Dutch credit card) in the iTunes stores. And everything works fine. Maybe try buying something in the regular iTunes store. Maybe you need to accept some new EULAs?

Indeed, the inability to buy apps from the phone after changing countries was because the T&C needed to be accepted in iTunes again. The strange thing is that I had already done it for the music store and I had bought songs with the new account. Apparently the two agreements are separate for apps and music.
